Let’s Get Grooving and Get Things Moving for Your Constipated Customers

Help your customers control their constipation with natural vitamins and minerals. Constipation? YES. Makers Nutrition knows what to do for #2:

1. Magnesium

Since magnesium has an osmotic effect, one must tread carefully with magnesium supplements as too much can cause loose stools, nausea, cramps, and/or diarrhea. It is the most commonly-used mineral to resolve constipation issues which may also work for your customers!

2. Calcium

Critical to maintaining strong bones and carrying out functions in the muscles, brain, heart, and other body systems, calcium is found in dairy products, broccoli, sardines, kale, and milk. Say your customers don’t prefer certain foods or follow veganism—you can offer a dairy-free calcium-comprised product to help keep levels in check.

3. Vitamin D

2019 research established a strong link between chronic constipation and vitamin D deficiencies, which is something you may want to communicate to your customers who do not get enough of the nutrient through the sun and/or food sources such as salmon, mackerel, and cod liver oil.

4. Vitamin B12

Low levels of Vitamin B12 is believed to cause constipation. The easiest way to boost those levels is by taking daily supplements from a trusted brand, like yours, whose product is manufactured in an FDA-registered, GMP-compliant facility!

5. Folic Acid

Folic acid, aka folate or Vitamin B9, may help unclog your customers’ plumbing… laugh all you want, but it’s true! If digestive acids are low, increasing them with the help of a folic acid supplement can push the stool through the colon and to where it belongs. Spinach and black-eye peas (delish), are both rich in folate, but some people do depend on you to provide the help they need.

6. Vitamin C

Similar to magnesium, this water-soluble vitamin has an osmotic effect on the digestive tract, pulling water into the intestines, helping to soften stool.

There's More…

In addition to offering customers a quality product, encourage them to make some lifestyle improvements for a better bowel experience.

  • Exercise regularly
  • Drink more water
  • Limit stress

Believe it or not, all three can interfere with the flow, if you know what I mean. And remember, always advise your customers to discuss with their doctor the use of supplements for their condition, as some vitamins or minerals can actually cause further constipation. Sometimes medication is needed to address serious digestive complications.
