Makers Nutrition has donated over 800 pounds worth of non-perishable food and household items to Island Harvest Food Bank.
For many, Thanksgiving is a time to cherish those surrounding the dinner table. As many fill their plates, others are without food and necessities that are often taken for granted. Each year, the Makers Nutrition team comes together to donate as much as possible to a Long Island-based charity organization. Considering all that Island Harvest Food Bank does to help people in need and seeing how much more they are doing in response to the COVID-19 crisis, Makers Nutrition knew this organization would be receiving a special donation.
Island Harvest Food Bank has gone above and beyond, running a COVID-19 response program across Suffolk and Nassau counties specifically to veterans, seniors, and children, and homebound individuals who are struggling with food insecurity.
“We are so pleased to give to those in need, especially when those in need are our neighbors,” said Vice President of Sales Patrick Gillespie. “As an Inc. 5000 company and Grand International Business Award winner, our employees understand the value of effort and teamwork. It’s just a great feeling when that effort and teamwork go toward a good cause.”
This is Makers Nutrition’s third time donating to Island Harvest Food Bank, and the team encourages all able to donate what they can. Any amount matters and can make a difference.
